Solar Energy Lights Up

The efficiency of photovoltaic cells is increasing with each passing day as their price slowly decrease and in addition, they have better designs now, engineered for the improved focusing of sunlight in a more concentrated manner. Photovoltaic cells are much smaller than its previous versions, and less material is used in its production, they are now being offered at lower prices than before. The price of solar power energy has reached the price of per hour per watt. If you consider the cost about 17 years ago when it was nearly double this is an improvement.

There's no question about how environment-friendly solar powered electricity generation is. Solar energy is an alternative source of energy which does not release any harmful wastes into the environment and simply uses one of the most natural sources of energy as its main ingredient. Today, solar collection cells have become very popular additions to the rooftops of people's houses. They are uncomplicated devices to use for heating air and water within your home or to generate electricity. For solar water heating, the water is allowed to pass through the cells, from where it gets heated and supplied to your home through pipes.

Today, photovoltaic cells have become efficient enough to accumulate heat from the sun even when the weather is cloudy or stormy. The technology used by Uni-Solar is an example of it.

There is actually another solar power system available for use called the PV System. By connecting the PV system to the closest electric grid if a particular home accumulates more energy than it requires, this energy is directed to the grid which works in a network which allows the grid to be less dependent on hydroelectricity for production of electricity. Using PV systems makes solar energy production economical for you, and also mitigates the problem of environmental pollution and helps to free up the grid from excessive pressure. Centralized solar collection panels are being devised in some areas so that they can provide cheap energy to whole town or suburban areas.

A number of multinational companies have expressed keen interests of entering into solar power generation, thus emphasizing how feasible and viable this source of energy is considered to be. Two notable examples are Google and Wal-Mart - while Google has installed a 1.6 MW solar power plant on the roof of its headquarters, Wal-Mart intends to use a 100 MW system that it will devise.

The American, German, Swiss and Japanese governments are among the few governments of the world that are providing tax breaks and subsidies to the individual persons or corporate entities that are using solar power for their thermal and electrical needs. Soon enough, several new private players are expected to join into the field of solar power generation because the rapidly increasing technology is making this field more profitable.

Homemade Wind Energy and Homemade Solar Energy can save you a whole load of money every year. This is something you NEED to look at.
